About Morehouse Gallery
Morehouse Gallery deals in the secondary market, working with individuals and institutions who wish to add to and/or become sellers from their collections. Our strategy is to minimize transaction costs and bridge the price and information gap between buyers and sellers.
The gallery was founded in 1999 by Richard Morehouse.
Art market information is often scarce and difficult to interpret and apply. Transaction costs are very high. The difference between buyer’s and seller’s price expectations can be enormous. The result is an illiquid market.
Prices listed on this site are benchmarked against other galleries and against auction results. It is normal for us to offer a discount on transactions. Please do not hesitate to make an offer that is less than the listed price.
An available work can be placed on hold while we conduct an active discussion about price and other details. Otherwise, prices are subject to change and listed works are subject to prior sale.
A subset of available works for sale are listed on the website. Additional works are available by request.
Privately requested catalogues and full details on all the artworks - including price, condition, and provenance - are available by logging into the site.
Sales are prepaid unless we have done significant prior business. Outbound shipping is the responsibility of the buyer.
For any reason, a full refund of the artwork purchase price is available by returning the work within two weeks in the same condition and shipping materials. A prepaid shipping label is provided in case this is necessary.
